Statement on the Blockade of Artsakh

Statement
Our mood is not festive at all, even though New Year’s Eve is just around the corner.
Since 12 December, Azerbaijani “environmentalists” have closed the only road connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia and are keeping around 120,000 Armenians under blockade. Among them are 30,000 children, 20,000 elderly people and 9,000 people with disabilities.
Today, shops in Artsakh are empty, children need food, and the need to transfer infant formula is growing by the second.
The ROAD OF LIFE is CLOSED for 120,000 people. And the party standing behind this is the terrorist, dictatorial government of Azerbaijan led by Ilham Aliyev.
In recent years, a number of international networks of investigative journalists have revealed that the billions belonging to Aliyev and his family members are kept not only in Azerbaijan, but also in the United Kingdom, the USA, Russia, Panama and other countries.
We demand from the authorities of the Republic of Armenia and appeal to the international institutions to take action and be persistent so that financial and political sanctions are imposed on the President of Azerbaijan, his family and other high-ranking leaders of the Azerbaijani government.
Regardless of nationality, religion and place of residence, human beings have the right to live and be healthy.
