Code of Ethics

(Adopted on 01.11.2020)

The “Point 33” Informative, Advocacy NGO highly values freedom of speech and information. At the same time, it is committed to respecting the principles of truth and accuracy, honesty and impartiality, transparency, and the principle of “do no harm” when publishing informational and research materials. Accordingly, the organization adheres to the following rules:

* Publish Only True and Verified Information

Before publication, all facts in a material are thoroughly verified to ensure they do not contain manipulations, distortions, half-truths, or false information. Comments are not presented as facts.

* Be Honest

Information gathering must not involve illegal or dishonest methods, such as secret recordings without permission. We respect copyright, oppose plagiarism, and always cite the sources from which we obtain information.
If an error occurs, we correct it immediately and, if necessary, notify readers about the correction.

* Be Impartial and Objective

When preparing materials, we always ensure that all relevant parties have the right to respond, and we present information from multiple perspectives.

* Maintain Independence and Integrity

We do not accept expensive gifts, which may compromise our impartiality when addressing any issue. The maximum acceptable value of a gift is 10,000 AMD.

* Do No Harm

When preparing materials, we must respect an individual’s right to privacy, reputation, honor, and dignity. We always uphold the presumption of innocence.

We work in the interest of society and democratic values. We strictly reject discrimination and hate speech.

When dealing with sensitive topics, we take extra precautions, including obtaining consent from an adult individual or a child’s parent/guardian before collecting information. If an individual is in a vulnerable situation, we prefer not to publish any data that may lead to their identification and further endanger them.

Compliance with all the points outlined in this Code of Ethics is mandatory for all employees and collaborators of the “Point 33” Informative, Advocacy NGO.
